Even Santa Needs An Alarm Clock

There may well be no need to be afraid, but even in the festive season there’s still a need to get out of bed. We’ve all tried to find alarm clocks in the past that not only give us the time, but that are also fun and make good gifts. It could be for your indolent teen who appears to regard the middle of the afternoon as the “morning” or maybe for the breadwinner in your household as a reminder to get their sorry selves out into the world of commerce and bring home the Christmas turkey.

These kind of gift can extend its usefulness into in the New Year as well, making sure you make that that job interview on time. Now, alarm clocks, are by definition, alarming. But really they should also be fairly annoying and insistent to ensure they wake you from your slumber. But that doesn’t mean gifts like these can’t be a lot of fun either! Speaking of fun alarm clocks, someone obviously agreed with the above sentiment when they were inventing the Flying Alarm Clock.

This might indeed be the perfect gadget as it has all the normal functionality of a normal alarm, but once the alarm goes off, there’s an added bonus. The sharper tools in the box may have already guessed what that might be, guided by the name of the device. There’s a small device on top of the clock that resembles a table-tennis pall with propellor blades attached to it. Once the alarm goes off, the ball begins to spin wildly. It then launches itself into the air and flies around while an extremely loud alarm goes off repeatedly. It won’t stop doing this until you’ve caught it or hunted down the flying bit and slotted it back into the top of the clock. So there really will be no more of those extra five minutes in bed, and no more being late.
